The mayor of Tel-Aviv distributed money gifts and the manager of the College has promised scholarships to the athletes that will return with medals from Beijing

The mayor of Tel-Aviv Jaffa, Mr. Ron Huldai, hosted on Sunday 41 Paralympics athletes and delegation members, the head of the Olympic Committee Mr. Tzvi Varshiviak and the head of the Paralympics Committee Mr. Danny Ben Abu.


In his salutation speech, the mayor wished good luck to all the athletes going to Beijing and gave each athlete 3000NIS.

The mayor has specified the major differences in the grants the regular athletes receive compared to the Paralympics athletes.

The chairman of ISAD (Israel Sports Association for the Disabled) Danny Ben Abu, expressed his hope that the attitude and treatment of the mayor to the athletes will show example to other mayors in the country.

The chairman of the Academic University in Tel-Aviv Jaffa, Mr. Dror Amir, has brought emotion to the athletes by promising scholarships for Bachelors or Masters Degree to each athlete that will return from Beijing with a medal.
