Vineberg has advanced to the semi-finals in the prestigious tournament in NottinghamThe tennis player Shraga Vineberg, a member of Ilan Ramat-Gan, has advance to the semi-finals in the international tennis tournament taking place in Nottingham, Great Britain.
At the quarter-finals, which took place this weekend, Vineberg ranked 9th in the world, defeated Yuan Anderson from Sweden, ranked fifth in the world, with a score of 6-4, 7-6.
The coach Yakov Vinner said that this is a great achievement for Shraga Vineberg, that in spite of his difficulties he was able to overcome opponents from the top tennis in the world.
At the semi-finals which will take place today, Shraga will go up against Peter Norfok from Great Britain. Peter Norfok won the Olympic gold medal in Athens 2004.
In the doubles division the Israeli duo Vineberg and Cramer lost to the American duo Taylor and Wagner 6-3, 6-3.
128 tennis players are taking part of this tournament which is also part of their preparations for the Paralympics games in Beijing.
