Seventeen year old Shir Kalmanovitz, lit the Shabbat candles at Beijing.

The Israeli delegation was hosted by the Israeli's ambassador in Beijing, Mr. Amos Naday, for the evening of Shabbat.


The seventeen year old rower Shir Kalmanovitz, who is the youngest of the delegation, lit the candles and the local rabbi Shabbat blessed.

During the morning hours, the basketball team held a practice game against South Africa last, ending with an Israeli victory, 44-66.

On Sunday, Aric Pinto's apprentices expect a particularly difficult game against Team USA, which is among the best in the world.

In the table tennis draw that took place today, the Israeli team determined who their opponents will be.
